Upper half length. The length of the upper half is one of the most important quality indicators of raw cotton. The longer the fiber, the greater the chance of contact between the fibers, the increased saturation force between the fibers, and the stronger the yarn strength, especially when spinning the fine or extra fine yarn, the fiber length has a more significant influence on the yarn strength.
Uniformity index. The fiber length uniformity index is a degree of uniformity or uniformity of the fiber length distribution, which has an important influence on the yarn dryness, and also has an influence on the strength of the yarn and the production rate of the raw cotton.
Breaking strength. When the fiber breakage strength is large, the fiber density is small or the strength is high, which is advantageous for the yarn forming strength. Since the fiber is not easy to be broken, the cotton is less, and the production rate is high, which is favorable for reducing the amount of cotton used.
Micronaire value. The effect of micronaire value on yarn quality is the combined effect of fiber fineness and maturity on yarn quality. For the same raw cotton variety, the micronaire value is high, the fiber is too ripe, and the natural curl is small. When spinning a good number of yarns, the number of fibers in the cross section of the yarn is small, the fiber saturation is poor, and the yarn strength is low. The micronaire value is too low, the cotton fiber is prone to harmful defects, the dyeability is poor, the breakage rate is high, and the yarn strength is also low.
4, computer cotton system

CAS mainly includes: bar code-based electronic storage management of raw cotton, classification of cotton bales based on HVI data and automatic cotton blending, optimization of package chart on cotton bales, cotton yarn quality prediction, etc. CAS can realize the electronic management of the original cotton storage of the enterprise; optimize the cotton blending scheme; predict the quality of the cotton yarn through the cotton blending result; and give the raw cotton procurement reference scheme according to the spinning requirements. The application practice shows that CAS can predict the quality of yarn into yarn, and can take measures in production to optimize the cotton efficiency, and reduce the production cost.
Since 1982, the US Cotton Company has promoted the Engineered Fiber Selection (EFS) to cotton spinning mills. To date, all US textile companies have purchased, transported, stored and selected cotton through the EFS system to achieve cotton blending. The package is even and stable. At the same time, EFS can also provide reference for the next purchase of raw cotton, avoid excessive purchase and save liquidity.
In order to better meet the product quality requirements, control the production cost, and enable the enterprise to obtain the maximum economic benefits, it must be based on the quality requirements of different products, according to the HVI data of the original cotton, to achieve the combination of experience with cotton and instrument cotton.
